London: 24 November

Times: 09.00 to 12.30 followed by lunch

Presenter: Chris Wagstaff and Nicholas Whitelocke (view biographies)

With a growing acceptance of lower investment returns from traditional asset classes, notably equities, pension schemes and other institutional investors have for some time paid greater attention to a group of asset classes and investment strategies collectively referred to as alternatives.

In addition to prospectively offering higher returns than many traditional assets, alternatives also seek to perform admirably regardless of market conditions and provide diversification of the traditional asset mix. This session considers whether the evidence stacks up.

Suggested entry requirements: Prospective delegates are advised to have a good understanding of equities and/or have attended an Investment Tutor Equities session.

Benefits of attending this session: After having attended this session you should be more conversant with the potential risks and rewards, benefits and caveats of investing in alternative assets.
